This is our first year to be a part of the American Cancer Society   Relay for Life.  As the team captain, I'm proud to say our students took part in an hour long walk to help raise funds for cancer research.  Through the efforts of the staff and students we were able to raise over $2,200.  Our initial goal was $1,000.  Our walk took place Friday, April 25th. Any student wishing to partake was asked to come at 1:30 to the walking area.  We had over 175 participants.  I hope all the participants will join me again at Roane County High School for the Roane County Relay for Life Walk.  My mother is a cancer survivor and I will walk a lap with her in honor of her triumph.  Please join me in walking for hope and a cure for this disease which has affected so many loved ones in our area and around the nation.      Students, I'm proud of your continued efforts for this important cause.
